AM PRE-CONFERENCE WORKSHOPS

WORKSHOP 1: AM WORKSHOP
Navigating Uncertainty: Mastering Project Risk Management
Presented by Brett Palmer, Anthony Wilson & Tony Anderson
ABM Risk Partnership

For many organisations, project management fails to effectively align to their risk management framework. The statistics speak for themselves with >15% of large-scale IT projects failing, and approximately 50% of others facing significant challenges that compromise objectives, clearly highlighting the substantial risks associated with inadequate project risk management practices.

This half day workshop will:
• Guide you through the fundamental concepts of project risk management, how it supports all stages of the project from concept through to delivery and Business as Usual
• Help develop your understanding of the importance of alignment of project methodology with risk management strategies
• Demonstrate how aligning project management and risk practices through actionable strategies that mitigate risks can enhance project outcomes

The workshop has broad application to multiple types of projects and is designed to bring a foundational understanding of project risk to non-risk professionals, and project management to risk professionals. The course will appeal to those involved in project development and delivery, as a project manager, a risk professional, or for those with the need to have a greater understanding of how to align both to increase the likelihood of project success - on time, on budget, in accordance with scope and design.
